About the Project

Watching the movie “Cries from Syria,” we witnessed the cruelty and horrors of the Syrian Civil War. We saw young kids being tortured until they died. We also saw children burning tires to confuse the fighter-bombers to pretend that their village did not exist. The shock soon transformed into a determination to help to end the war. As a response to the movie, we created a storybook that can raise awareness about the war. To make the story realistic, we decided to compose the book based on the true story of the children in Aleppo who burned tires to protect their village.
